Te reo maori

This week for maori we learnt how to say body parts.

First I highlighted the maori words I knew in blue and the ones I don't know I left them blank.

Then I matched the words along with the pictures.

I enjoyed the task because it taught me body parts in maori.

Governing topic summary

Governing topics are things when parties wish to put action when they are allowed. The important topics to me are Education and Health.

Education is about how the government should spend money on schools.
Health is about keeping people safe and healthy and providing more money and stop getting sick to help during the current pandemic.

If I voted and choose a governing topic, I would pick education and health. The reason why I pick education is because I am still at school and still learning new things. The reason why I pick health is because I need to keep myself healthy under our current situation.

LI: to choose important governing topics by summarising all topics

Making connections

Making connections is when you use a text for yourself, text and the world.

Text-to-self connections are connections that a reader makes between a piece of reading material. Text to self is what links to what you do. For example:In the story the mouse scared the fox when he lied to him. My connection is telling my brother that the boogie man was real to scare him.

Text to Text is a text thats linked in a book or a movie. For example: In the story the mouse stood up to the owl. my connecting is In the story jack and the beanstalk was brave enough to stand up to the giant.

Text to world is linking ideas in the world. For example: In the story the gruffalo the mother squirrel told a story to her children. my connection is Is that mothers tells story to their children so they can go to sleep.

LI-To identify and describe connections.

Fact and opinion | Character train

This week for reading we did fact and opinion and character trait.

For fact and opinion, we found a fact for each animal in the gruffalo story and made an opinion to what we thought about the animals.

Then for fact and opinion I was inferring about the character and the adjective and thing about them.

I enjoyed learning about the different characters and how they acted.
