Multiplication is an easier way to add numbers over and over.
For example-4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 is adding fours five times so 5 x 4 = 20.
This slide below shows the 4 times tables.
I am a Year 7 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Figurative language
Figurative language is the hidden messages in what someone says or describes.
A simile is a comparison of two things using like or as.
A hyperbole is exaggerating to show strong feeling or effect.
A metaphor is two things are compared without using like or as.
A personification is giving human traits to objects or ideas.
An understatement is an expression with less strength than expected.

Swimming
Today I learnt new skills for our water safety skills at the Lagoon pool. The swimming teacher I was learning the skills from was James.
The first skill I learnt was streamline. I had to put my legs straight up behind my ears then I had to do fast kicking.
The next skill I learnt was arm strokes. I had to do fast kicking and had to swing my arms slowly.
The next skill I learnt was rolling. I had to swim with our heads underwater for 5 sec and then put my heads above.
The last skill I learnt was duck dive. We had to swim with our heads below the water then we had to bring it up and dive.

Summarising (Ki o rahi)
This week we were learning to summarise. We also linked visualisation & inferenceing. we filled in a story web to summarise each part of the story.
I used my visualisation from week 1 to help separate the parts of the story. I used my character inference traits to use adjectives and evidence to help summarise different part. Using good adjectives unlocks meaningful information, and i can summarise quicker.
Connecting all 3 strategies helped me to understand the story, characters and keywords.
