Motat

LI: to learn things at the motat.
this week we were on a bus to go to the motat. When we got there we went to the mind lab. Then we met 2 girls and 1 man. The 2 girls name was Emma and Kebin. And the mans name was Devon.

Exploring the motat

My groups was mr Wong. And my friends were with me too. First place we went was an old trackter, Old cars and engines, steams and everything else.

Making a flashlight

After we explored the Motat the yr 5's went to make a Lego flash light that work. When we were done we had a test of spinning the metal part and it worked.

Making a electric car

Then we made an electric cars with materials. Then we had a test and it worked.

Not like the others

LI: To identify the main idea.

For reading we learnt about what does a main idea means. Main idea means a sentence that is the main topic. We learnt the main ideas mean by playing a game called not like others. I had to read the sentences and if i read a different sentence i had to click on it to see if i'm right.

SSR selfie

LI: to summarise and retell a text.

This week I was doing SSR selfie my book was horrible science. I got that book from the library. I read it for 15 mins. Then i did some about it.

Basic facts boxes

This week for basic facts boxes my eqasion was addition and subtraction. My speed demoed was 5 and took me 1 min and 28 sec. Then I had to describe about it my maths.

Swimming and water safety

LI: to learn water safety skills.

Our first lesson for water safety was used to get  into groups of 2 and show
the instructions our swimming ability. I was Livvy's groups.

In Livvy's group we practised kicking in streamline pose.

this week for writing we are working on persuasive text. persuasive means changing peoples mind, make someone do something and make people bileve

2D shapes

L.I: to learn stuff of 2d shapes.

This week for maths we are learning about 2d shapes. We were watching a video of  2d shape that have edges, lines, sides and corners. The 2d shapes we had to do was triangle, square, rectangle, pentagon, trapezoid, hexagon and octagon. After that we had to do some work about it then i was done.

Duffy feitor

This week for assembly we were watching the Duffy theatres. We sang the Duffy song then they made a show of the magic bricks game. It took us 20 mins then we were done watching the magic bricks show then the Duffy theatres said we can ask some questions.

This week for kiwi can our new theme was resilience. And our topic is reliability, friend ship and relation ship. then we talked about emotions. Emotions is what your feeling. So we've played it and my groups were Spellman and Kruse. Then we played another emotion game then we were done at kiwi can.

Kiwi can says: If you feel it, let it out don't doubt, Just get is all out.

Main idea

L.I: to categorise words

This week for reading we are learning about Main idea. And we were working on categorise. categorise is a group of smaller things. There were 3 Boxes and i had to name a title on them. Then after that i had to put the words in the right boxes. 

Hiit

This week we are doing Hit at Assembly. I was doing the hard Hit. The moves we were suppose to do was Pull ups, Push-up, Mountain climbers and Bring sally/squat challenge. HIT stands for High-intensity interval training .

How to do the pull ups

Put your hands on the bars and pull you body up.
How to do the Push ups


put your hands on the ground and push the ground then go back down to the ground.

How to do the mountain climes

Put your hands on the stage and do the hinges.

how to do the Bring sally/squat challenge


stand up strait and do the squat poles if the song say bring sally up, Bring sally down and you can't go back up until the song says bring sally up.

This week for writing we are doing an information report. Our new information report is meaningful information and explain visilly. Then we started our work on  a slide Then Mote shard it with us. This week for SSR selfie my book was Far out fairy tales. I read it for fithteen mins then I did some important work about it. Then I read it again. Then I was done doing my SSR selfie.

This week for our last maori work we are doing matariki. Matariki is the 7 stars up the sky. The mother star is matariki and the other 6 star are her dauters. we did this on a google drawing. We had to insert a picture from google and find out what there maori name is. After that i was done so i done my blog post.

Kiwi can

LI: to recap learning for them.

This week for kiwi can we are doing the topics and catch phrase. Our catch phrase was kiwi can says, Spec to me truthfully and that is called honesty. And the theme was integrity. And topics was responsibility, reliability and honesty.
 Our games were called invisible touch and octopus. After that, kiwi can gave us a lollipop then we went back to LSl.

My constellation

LI: to skimming, scanning, and summarising.

This week for our writing we and doing a slide called my constellation. Our image was a star called Cassiopeia. We needed materials. The materials were sticks and marshmallow. after that we took a picture of it. Then I did important work about it. Then i was done.

Space travel

LI: to understand what is needed for space travel.

This last week for our last inquiry we are learning space travel with m.r Ogilvy. We Made rockets with a straw and we have put fins on out of paper. Then we had to cut the top part. Then Dayton shot it by blowing the straw. After that It was my turn to measure. Then we were done for our last inquiry.
